Target Audience

Nicklaus Children's Hospital CME activities are provided to pediatricians, House Staff physicians, pediatric subspecialists in medicine & surgery and pediatric researchers. 

Other physicians including family practitioners and other healthcare providers are encouraged to participate when appropriate. One or more of the CME activities is designed to attract and impart CME activities to national and international physicians.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees are expected to:

  1. Know what constitutes a medical error and the different types of medical errors.
  2. Learn strategies for preventing medical errors.
  3. Learn the proper handling and disclosure of a medical error.
