Coral Gables - The City Beautiful

History

The city of Coral Gables proudly stands apart from others, largely due to the insightful talents of its founder, George Edgar Merrick. His eclectic vision for the perfect community was inspired by classic art forms carefully integrated into the natural beauty of South Florida. Today, the city exuberantly reflects its Mediterranean style and grace with luxurious homes and gardens, beautiful parks, and modern recreational facilities. Coral Gables is known as the cultural capital of South Florida, with more live theater performances, art galleries, and fine restaurants than any other city.

Dining/Nightlife

Some of the best restaurants in Miami are located just steps away from the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Guests can enjoy a variety of foods from the finest Steakhouses to the most casual bistros. With a wide range of International Cuisine, there is something to satisfy everyone’s palate just walking distance from the hotel. Miracle Mile also offers the best in nightlife, from the casual settings of Tarpon Bend and The Bar to the upscale lounges of Cibo Wine Bar. Known for its commitment to quality and personal service, Miracle Mile’s world-renowned restaurants offer food from around the world and serve dinner late into the evening.

Shopping

The famed Miracle Mile and its surrounding downtown streets, with their European-style outdoor cafes, provide visitors with an enjoyable tropical shopping experience. Miracle Mile is one of South Florida’s most sought-after shopping destinations, featuring quality shops, art galleries, and boutiques in a lushly landscaped environment of tree-lined streets. Fashion and style come to life at the Village of Merrick Park, which is just minutes away. This upscale mall features Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and 115 other world-class retail shops and restaurants.

Trolley Service

Transportation through the Coral Gables Trolley is a free service provided by the City of Coral Gables. The North/South Ponce de Leon Boulevard runs along Ponce de Leon Boulevard from the Douglas Metrorail Station to Flagler Street. This service runs every 10 to 15 minutes, Monday-Friday, from 6:30 am-8:00 pm, except the first Friday of the month, which runs until 10 pm. Trolleys do not run on municipal holidays.

Spa

Miracle Mile offers the best in Salon and Spa options. Whether you desire a deluxe mani/pedi, facial, or relaxing massage, there’s no better place to go than the upscale salons and spas that Coral Gables is known for. Visit www.camelotspa.com and www.avant-garde.wurlwindsolutions.com for more information.

Golf/Tennis

Golf and tennis arrangements can be made through our concierge at the finest Coral Gables facilities. The Biltmore Golf Course, Melreese Golf Club, and Crandon Golf Course on Key Biscayne are all just minutes away from the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables and offer some of the most challenging courses in Miami.

Beaches

We are conveniently located twenty minutes away from both South Beach and Key Biscayne, offering two very different types of beach experiences to meet any guest’s wishes.
