The Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act is part of a federal law passed in December 2022 that creates a new, one-time requirement for any Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registered practitioner. This requirement is separate from the FL Board of Medicine requirement and, while activities approved by the FL Board of Medicine for the Controlled Substances Requirement meet the DEA MATE Act needs, the reverse is not true. You can review our DEA MATE Act Frequently Asked Questions article for details on this requirement.
