The Practical Community Pediatrics (PCP) Series was created to meet the needs of the primary care physician in the community. Our needs assessment survey revealed that the community providers are not always able to attend our Grand Rounds Sessions at NCH due the inability to leave their offices. In addition to being able to attend virtually, the specialists at NCH recognized the need for continuous education of the community providers on the care of various diseases. The specialists identified a need due to inappropriate or delayed referrals and/or work-ups and identified areas that the primary care physicians should be able to take care of in their offices without the need for specialist intervention.
Target Audience
Primary Care Physicians, Medical Students, Sub-Specialty Physicians, Office Staff, and Community Agencies
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the rates of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and completion for children and adolescents.
- Discuss more ways to research the needs for children and adolescents who are diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria
- Understand the prevalence, causes and effects of gender dysphoria in the pediatric population
- Discuss the evaluation and appropriate referral for patients with gender dysphoria
- Review clinical, psychological, and surgical approaches of patients with gender dysphoria
