The Practical Community Pediatrics (PCP) series was created to meet the needs of the primary care physician in the community. Our needs assessment survey revealed that the community providers are not always able to attend our Grand Rounds Sessions at NCH due the inability to leave their offices. In addition to being able to attend virtually, the specialists at NCH recognized the need for continuous education of the community providers on the care of various diseases. The specialists identified a need due to inappropriate or delayed referrals and/or work-ups and identified areas that the primary care physicians should be able to take care of in their offices without the need for specialist intervention.
Target Audience
Primary Care Physicians, Medical Students, Sub-Specialty Physicians, Office Staff, and Community Agencies
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Understand basics genetic terminology
- Understand common genetic and metabolic conditions
- Understand basic treatment strategies for metabolic conditions.
