JoAnn Vargas is a bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist with a specialty in pediatrics.  She completed her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Massachusetts.  With more than 28 years of experience, she works in the Rehabilitation department at Nicklaus Children's Hospital managing children from birth to age 21 with various feeding, speech, and language disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting.  She has been an integral part of the Hospital's Craniofacial Team for over 27 years.  Furthermore, she has collaborated with Florida International University and the University of Puerto Rico – Recinto de Ciencias Médicas on several speech and feeding programs.  As a volunteer with Advent Health Sharing Smiles and Operation Smiles, she has participated in several programs worldwide.
