Viviana Rua, APRN, MSN, PPCNP-BC

Viviana started her nursing career at the University of Miami where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her first work experience was at Mount Sinai Medical Center in the cardiac step-down unit. From there she transitioned to Nicklaus Children’s hospital emergency department. After gaining experience as a pediatric registered nurse, she decided to return to school to pursue her master’s degree. In December 2014, she became a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitoner and transitioned from a nursing role in the emergency department to that of a nurse practitioner. After nine years in the emergency department, she decided it was time for a change and took a temporary position in the nephrology department. During this time, the opportunity arose to become part of the Craniofacial Team at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. In January 2021, she joined the craniofacial department as a nurse practitioner. Her role involves inpatient and outpatient care coordination as well as a nurse educator for hospital staff and families alike.
