Dr. Beatriz Cunill-De Sautu earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida International University and subsequently her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. Dr. Cunill-De Sautu then went on to complete her three-year pediatric residency training, followed by an additional year as Chief Resident, at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital.
Dr. Cunill-De Sautu continued her pursuit of academic pediatrics by joining the Department of Medical Education at Nicklaus Children's Hospital and assisting in the administration of the Pediatric Residency Program. She also served as an attending physician and preceptor at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Pediatric Care Center. In July 2008, Dr. Cunill-De Sautu was appointed as the Pediatric Residency Program Director, and she continues to be responsible for the overall oversight of the program's curriculum and educational activities, its compliance with the ACGME requirements, as well as the recruitment and supervision of the residents in the program.
Dr. Cunill-De Sautu holds faculty appointments at the Hebert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University (Clinical Assistant Professor), Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Clinical Assistant Professor), and at the St. George’s University School of Medicine (Professor). She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Cunill-De Sautu has also served as a member of various National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) USMLE Test Material Development Committees (TMDC) over the past 8 years. Most recently, she rotated off her four-year term as the Co-Chair of the Children’s Health TMDC and joined the USMLE Step 3 Interdisciplinary Review Committee.
