Anthony Orsini, DO, FAAP
Chief of Neonatology
Dr. Anthony Orsini is the Section Chief of Neonatology for Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialist and currently serves as the NICU Medical Director at Jupiter Medical Center and NCH Hospital North Naples. He is also the Medical Director of Wellness for Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialist.
He is a graduate of Rutgers University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Pediatric Residency and Neonatal Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Prior to coming to Nicklaus Children’s, Dr. Orsini served as the Level II Medical Director, Palliative Care Liaison, and Chief of Patient Experience at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando
Profoundly impacted by an early career experience and the discovery that even the most successful and well-respected physicians often struggled with their communication skills, Dr. Orsini has spent the last 25 years developing proven communication techniques that help doctors build rapport and quickly form trusting relationships with their patients. In 2011, he started the Breaking Bad News PROGRAM. Through his interactive workshops and coaching, he has trained thousands of senior physicians, nurses, and practitioners on how to enhance their patient’s overall experience and become more fulfilled with their own lives.
Dr. Orsini has authored several papers on the topics of communication in medicine, enhancing the patient experience and delivering tragic news. He is the author of the book “It’s All in the Delivery-Improving Healthcare Starting with a Single Conversation and is a frequent keynote speaker on the topic of compassionate communication in medicine and business. His TEDx talk – How the Human Connection Improves Healthcare has more than 100 thousand views in just over 1 year
Finally, Dr. Orsini’s podcast titled “Difficult Conversations – Lessons I Learned as an ICU Physician” hit the Top 100 podcasts on Apple in just 1 week.
