Shakeva N. Swain, DNP, RN, TCRN is a Doctor of Nursing Practice-prepared nurse executive and pediatric trauma leader with more than 20 years of experience in trauma program management, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, research, and professional education. She currently serves as Director of Trauma at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida, where she has held progressive leadership roles since 2009.

Dr. Swain is recognized for her expertise in pediatric trauma systems, trauma verification, performance improvement, and multidisciplinary program development. She is actively involved in national and state professional organizations, serving in leadership roles with the Society of Trauma Nurses and the Pediatric Trauma Society. An accomplished presenter and published author, her work has focused on advancing pediatric trauma care, injury prevention, and improving outcomes for injured children and families. Through her leadership, scholarship, and commitment to excellence, Dr. Swain continues to influence the future of pediatric trauma care at both the regional and national levels.
