Daniel Lizano, MSHS, PA-C
Danny Lizano was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and received his B.A. in Biology at Binghamton University in 2005. He later graduated from George Washington University’s PA program where he received his Masters of Science in Health Sciences in 2007. Danny returned to his roots, and moved back to the Bronx, NY where completed the PA Post Graduate Residency in Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center. He completed the program with honors and received the award for Surgical PA resident of the year in 2008.
Danny continued his clinical work with the division of Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore upon completion of his training. During his tenure at Montefiore, he was the director of Critical Care PA education and director of the PA Postgraduate Residency in Critical Care. He remains an active member in the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and has served on the steering committee of the Society’s PA section and previously chaired that section. In 2015, Danny achieved the honor of being only the 9th PA to be inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
In 2016, he moved down to sunny Miami and accepted a clinical position and helped create a functioning Advanced Practice Provider Service line in Critical Care at Kendall Regional Medical Center. In May of 2019 he decided to focus on PA education and served as full time faculty at FIU PA program and later at Novasoutheastern while continuing to work clinically in critical care medicine part time. In 2025, Danny moved to Phoenix Arizona and accepted a position as a Neurocritical care PA at Barrow Neurological Institute.His professional interests continues to be medical education, promoting the role of Physician Assistants in Critical Care Medicine and the effective use of advance practice providers (APPs) as well as medical mission work.
