Dr. Omar R. Beckett is a pediatric endocrinologist within the Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT COM) in Old Westbury, New York. Dr. Beckett completed a residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where he also served as chief resident, and subsequently completed his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology. His clinical interests include obesity and neonatal hypoglycemia.

Dr. Beckett is board-certified in general pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and Endocrine Society. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at national medical conferences.

Dr. Beckett is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is multilingual, speaking his native language of English, as well as medical Spanish and Jamaican Patois.
