Alexander Weil, MD, FRCS, FACS

Dr. Alexander G. Weil is a pediatric and epilepsy neurosurgeon at Sainte-Justine University Hospital (CHUSJ) and the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CHUM), as well as an Associate Professor in the Departments of Surgery and Neurosciences at the Université de Montréal. After completing his neurosurgery training at the Université de Montréal, he undertook a fellowship at Miami/Nicklaus Children's Hospital. He is a funded clinician-scientist research scholar at the CHUSJ Research Institute. His research program has provided important insights into the underlying mechanisms of epilepsy and has contributed to understanding and improving surgical outcomes for children with drug-resistant epilepsy.
Dr. Weil co-leads the comprehensive pediatric epilepsy surgery program at Sainte-Justine University Hospital. He also serves as the Director of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship and Research Chair within the Division of Neurosurgery at the Université de Montréal. Additionally, he is the outgoing secretary of the Canadian League Against Epilepsy.
