Dr. Geovanny F. Perez is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist and Clinical Associate Professor at the University at Buffalo. He serves as the Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine and the Medical Director of the Lung Center at Oishei Children’s Hospital. With a career dedicated to advancing pediatric respiratory health, Dr. Perez has led innovative research and quality improvement initiatives, including the implementation of evidence-based asthma management strategies.
Dr. Perez completed his pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at George Washington University/Children’s National Medical Center. His research focuses on asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), and respiratory management in neuromuscular disorders. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and serves on multiple editorial boards.
Recognized for his leadership and contributions to pediatric pulmonary medicine, Dr. Perez has received numerous awards, including the Young Investigator Award at the International Congress on Pediatric Pulmonology and the SUNY Diversity in Medicine Mentoring Award. He is an active member of the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society and has been invited to present at national and international conferences.
