Kristen Stabingas, MD
Dr. Kristen C. Stabingas is a pediatric neurosurgeon within the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Brain Institute. She earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Stabingas completed her residency in neurosurgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she developed a special interest in the treatment of vascular neurosurgical conditions. In addition to neurovascular pathology, her clinical interests include neonatal and pediatric hydrocephalus, brain and spinal cord tumors, and the management of complex congenital disorders including Chiari malformations and myelomeningocele.
Dr. Stabingas is board-eligible in neurological surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Hydrocephalus Society, and Women in Neurosurgery. Her research interests include craniosynostosis, posterior fossa syndrome, and Chiari malformation treatment and outcomes. Her work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at neurosurgical conferences.
