Alejandro Diaz, MD
Pediatric Endocrinologist
Dr. Diaz is the chief of the division of pediatric endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Diaz earned his medical degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He then completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. His clinical interests include the management of children with conditions affecting the normal functioning of the thyroid gland, abnormal growth, early or late pubertal development, adrenal disorders, disorders of sex development, and diabetes. Dr. Diaz is board-certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. He is a member of the Endocrine Society and Pediatric Endocrine Society. Dr. Diaz has been published in numerous medical journals and presented at conferences both nationally and globally. He has also contributed chapters to medical textbooks.
