Dr. Behnam-Terneus is an attending physician within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and also serves as associate director of the Pediatric Hospitalist Fellowship program as well as the Pediatric Residency Program in the Department of Medical Education at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. In addition, Dr. Behnam-Terneus is a assistant professor within the Department of Pediatrics at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Behnam-Terneus then completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as well as an additional year as chief resident. Her interests include applying evidence-based medicine into practice and mentoring residents.
Dr. Behnam-Terneus is board certified in general pediatrics. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (FACOP) and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric’s (AAP) Section on Hospital Medicine, Florida Chapter of AAP, Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). She has served as a volunteer with numerous organizations and received several awards for her dedication and academic achievements.
