Magaly Diaz-Barbosa, MD

Dr. Magaly Diaz-Barbosa received her medical degree from the UCE in the Dominican Republic then went on to complete a pediatric residency, including a chief resident year at Westchester County Medical Center in New York. Subsequently, she completed a neonatal/perinatal fellowship at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Diaz-Barbosa maintains board certification in pediatrics and neonatal/perinatal medicine.
She is an active member of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital medical staff since 2010 and currently serves as the Director of the Neonatology division and director of the NICU. She is a clinical professor of Pediatrics at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Prior to coming to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Dr. Diaz-Barbosa served as an attending neonatologist at the University of Miami for 19 years. Dr. Diaz-Barbosa is an experienced, dedicated neonatologist with a commitment to patient care, teaching and research. Clinical interests include personalized medicine using rapid genome sequencing to support medical care for critically ill infants and children in the intensive care units suffering from conditions of unknown etiology.
