Dr. Paredes completed her Pediatric Residency training program at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami, and her subspecialty training in Pediatric Nephrology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard School of Medicine. Dr. Paredes is Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology and she is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida and Massachusetts with fluency in both English and Spanish. Dr. Paredes is an active member and fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, and the Society for Pediatric Research.  Dr. Paredes is currently a Principal Investigator for various clinical research protocols involving, among others,  Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis and renal osteodystrophy, she has co-authored numerous scientific publications.  Dr. Paredes has a special clinical interest in various bone diseases including Osteogenesis Imperfecta, juvenile osteopenia, and metabolic bone disease associated with renal failure.
