Joshua Tarkoff, MD
Pediatric Endocrinologist
Dr. Tarkoff received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, located in New York, NY. He completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). While at UCSF, he treated children with a variety of endocrine disorders, including obesity, Type 1 and 2 diabetes, and thyroid, pubertal, growth and carbohydrate disorders. He is board-certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric endocrinology.
Dr. Tarkoff is active in research related to HDL-C subspecies and their role in future cardiovascular risk among children. He received a research grant to assess cortisol secretion associated with moderately invasive surgeries in healthy children.
Dr. Tarkoff sees patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus, as well as the Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center, and other Miami-Dade County locations. Dr. Tarkoff is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the physician group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, the region’s only health system exclusively for children.
