Michael Smith, MD, MSCE
Dr. Smith is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke University. He serves as the medical director of the pediatric antimicrobial stewardship program for Duke University Hospital. During the pandemic he has been involved in the development and revision of guidelines for pediatric COVID acute infections and MIS-C, and has been an investigator for multiple COVID vaccine trials in adults and children. He is also one of the core faculty members for the ABC Science Collaborative, a project that pairs physician-scientists and public health experts from Duke University and the University of North Carolina with more than 50 school districts across North Carolina.
