Michael Lopez, M.D.
Dr. Michael Lopez is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist employed by Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists, the multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System. He is the Director of Non-invasive Electrophysiology, and an Assisstant Professor of Pediatrics at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Dr. Lopez earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He then completed his pediatric residency and cardiology fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, as well as a 2-year subspecialty fellowship in electrophysiology. His clinical interests include congenital heart disease, arrhythmia and cardiac channelopathies.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association, Heart Rhythm Society, and Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Lopez sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Sports Health center in Pinecrest, FL as well as the main Nicklaus Children's hospital campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish
