Felipe Pedroso, MD, MPH
Dr. Felipe Pedroso is a pediatric surgeon in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. His initial medical training began in general pediatrics where he completed an internship at the Weill-Cornell Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital. However, at the end of his internship he decided to change paths and pursue pediatric surgical training. Following his pediatrics internship he spent two years as a basic science and clinical outcomes researcher in pediatric surgery. He then completed his general surgery residency at Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital. During his training he obtained a Master’s in Public Health with a focus in Biostatistics at the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Bloomberg Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Pedroso has returned home to Miami Florida, where his family is from to practice pediatric surgery.
Dr. Pedroso’s publication and clinical interests include general pediatric surgery, surgical oncology and thoracic surgery. His clinical focus will be extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy in children and the management of pediatric trauma patients.
