Elaine Schulte, MD, MPH
Dr. Elaine Schulte is the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Faculty Development at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). She is Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a board-certified executive physician coach and received her executive coaching certificate from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management.
Dr. Schulte directs the CHAM Peer Mentorship Program, a volunteer, longitudinal program created to increase academic productivity and enhance physician engagement. She also leads the Department of Pediatrics Well-being Committee.
Prior to arriving at Montefiore, Dr. Schulte served as the Department Chair of General Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic, and co-founded, with Dr. Andrea Sikon, the Cleveland Clinic Center for Excellence in Coaching & Mentoring (CECM) in 2008. The Center's mission is to facilitate a relationship-centered developmental network for all faculty across the career continuum. CECM focuses on training faculty to become peer coaches and mentors, utilizing a unique goal-based framework founded in positive psychology, incorporating a relationship-centered, asset-based approach.
Dr. Schulte serves as senior advisor, faculty member and coach for both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association. She has given numerous national and international presentations and workshops related to professional development, coaching and mentoring, physician leadership, well-being and adoption.
