At the completion of this activity, participants are expected to: 1) Discuss the importance of improving trauma care knowledge for better care and outcomes, 2) Verbalize the appropriate measures, based on evidence-based practice to care for trauma patients acutely and in resuscitation, 3) Identify how new practices in trauma patient care impact and change patient care outcomes.

1. Define Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) and differentiate between the categories of SUID (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death) and SUDC, 2. Discuss the role of medical professionals in supporting families after the sudden and unexplained death of a child, 3. Describe the resources available for families and medical professionals through the SUDC Foundation, and 4. Discuss the research that currently exist for SUDC and discuss the limitations that elude our understanding of this category of death

1. Describe the rising incidence and evolving presentation of complicated biliary disease in children, 2. Explain the development, components, and clinical utility of the Pediatric DUCT Score, 3. Compare ERCP and a surgery-first approach for pediatric choledocholithiasis, 4. Review emerging technologies aimed at preventing common bile duct injuries in pediatric cholecystectomy

1. Define artificial intelligence (AI) and describe the components of a good AI prompt, 2. discuss the benefits and dangers of current AI applications in all facets of pediatric education: Administration, Teaching, Clinical Supervision, Research/ Publications, and Scholarly Work, and 3. Identify pitfalls, ethical concerns, and biases, and highlight guardrails for safe, equitable, and effective integration of AI in medical education.

1. Identify the new sepsis definition with the framework of the Phoenix Criteria based on sepsis 3 concepts (Organ failure), 2. Understand the value and limitations of sepsis screening in children’s hospitals and new frontiers on sepsis screening, and 3. Describe the ongoing quality improvement efforts underway in our health system to improve sepsis care

1. Identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking (both labor and sex trafficking victims) in the clinical setting, 2. Know how to report cases of human trafficking, and 3. Be familiar with the resources available to victims of human trafficking.

1. Review the origins of Solutions for Patient Safety and help envision the future for pediatric safety, 2. Understand the current landscape affecting children’s health and the need for resilience in leadership, and 3. Describe the current efforts in protecting children during times of crisis.
